Tewkesbury Heritage Strategy
There is a wealth of strategies and policies within the emerging Borough Plan. One that is of great interest to the Civic Society and should be to the wider Tewkesbury community is the Heritage Strategy.
This strategy encompasses Conservation Areas, Listed buildings and structures, Buildings at risk and Shopfront design. This heritage strategy will play a major role in the shaping of the Borough’s development and identity. It is intended that the strategy provides a strategic and clear approach to dealing with Tewkesbury’s heritage. |
The Strategy document contains recommendations to ensure that any future policies and approaches to the Borough’s heritage are based on a clear understanding of the place, its significance and its value. The aim of the Tewkesbury Borough Heritage Strategy is therefore to enable Tewkesbury Borough Council to achieve their objectives for the protection and enhancement of the historic environment as set out in the Joint Core Strategy and the emerging Tewkesbury Borough Plan.
